Opal socks FO.
I managed to get a few unwanted lines in these. They’ll probably ease out when I wash them. Pretty socks. For me.
“There is going to be a dearth of complicated cookery around here until such time as either we can afford to fix the Rayburn or the weather warms up…
…Today we are having haggis. I just checked the heating instructions and we may boil it for 90 minutes, bake it for 45 minutes, or nuke it for 5 minutes. The choice is an easy one…”
A couple of books that I am hoping to add to my library this year. Both are sock books. One from Cookie A and the other from Interweave Press.
“…these two books are currently at the top of my “most wanted” list…”
Nell’s in the news! Well, not quite, but she is in the Your Pictures part of the BBC’s Scotland news site. Thanks to SpinningGill for…
“Knitting this yarn put me in another time and place, but one that I can’t quite identify. The colour of the yarn is subtle, almost dusky in a way. The gloss is reminiscent of … what… Rayon? It’s almost indefinable, but there is a whiff of Granny’s dressing table about it. Something in my experience, long ago. A memory so distant that I can’t reach out far enough to grab it. Something 1930’s or 1940’s about it. Something that was old, even when I was very young.”
A simple lace scarf…Named for René Lalique… Cast on: Dec 26, 2008… Cast off: 1st January 2009. 2009’s first FO!
Pay it Forward
I was musing recently upon the possibility of giving away a few items here at Woolgathered in the near future. I wasn’t really planning anything structured but a courtesy visit to a recent Woolgathered visitor has offered a little sense of direction.
