I grabbed the wrong camera this morning as I carried the bin bags out to the gate. I knew it at the time but I also knew that the sunrise would change long before I found the card and inserted it and fumbled my way with a heavy camera, two heavy bin bags and a sheet all the way to the gate. Better a poor capture than no capture, so I tucked the little Nikon around my neck.
I took a series of shots and the sun blew out in all of them. Darn.
Pretty sky, though!
The holiday is over, Mr L is back at work (already subject to the first conference call of the year, poor lamb) and I am returned to my routine (hurrah!) at last, while the days are definitely lengthening now. However, I shall not be fully happy until the sun is up before I am, which seems to me to be the proper order of things. Really – pretty or not, I am content to miss the dawn.
If you are at all intrigued by the sheet and why I took it to the gate with me: it is to cover the bin bags with and thereby fox the Ravens and gulls that have learned what enticements lie inside the shiny black bags. They make the most dreadful mess within moments of the bags going out, unless they are covered.
As mentioned – today’s calories come courtesy of the scrapings in the bottom of the fridge drawers: Vegetable Broth, thickened with Cannellini beans, pearl barley and split red lentils. We had a pasta bowlful each for lunch but only managed to get through half the calories in a 900 calorie panload. There will be a reprise at teatime if either one of us is feeling peckish.
In the meantime, it is Spinning time and I have not packed my wheel, just my Tunisian Stashbuster Blanket, now reaching a termination point (Well done, me.) – must fly off and make myself presentable!
Beautifulk colours and light!
